Top 10 Absolute Must Try Hot Chocolate Recipes Before You Die

Are you in love with hot chocolates as I am? If you're anything like me, my day won't be complete without my hot chocolate in the morning. I absolutely love them during the cold and rainy days wearing my super comfy sweat pants. It doesn't get any better than that. Well not really once you try out all these special hot chocolate recipes. They have their own unique twist to add to their own adult kick rich creamy taste on your soul.

Fair warning don't judge any of these recipes based on the ingredients. Try it out you'll never now which one you'll fell in love with. Best part is once you share it with any of your hot chocolate loving buddies and spend the night away with some juicy memories. Hope you'll enjoy this list as much as we did.

1. Fireball Hot Chocolate from


1 shot of Fireball (or more if you really want to get warm)
Godiva Hot Chocolate (can be Milk Chocolate or Dark Chocolate depending on your preference)
1 cup of milk


Microwave milk in a microwave safe mug on high for 1-1/2 to 2 minutes or until hot. Stir in the Godiva Hot Cocoa packet or three tablespoons from the canister depending on what type of Godiva you have.
Add your shot(s) of Fireball. Add marshmallows, chocolate shavings or whatever else your heart desires.

2. Kahlua Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate from


1/3 cup Kahlua Pumpkin Spice Liqueur

4 cups whole milk

½ cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Pinch of salt

1 cup pumpkin puree

1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Toppings to try: marshmallows, pumpkin pie spice, shaved chocolate, whipped cream


In a medium saucepan, begin heating (but not boiling) 1 cup milk, the sugar, cocoa powder and salt. As the mixture warms, keep stirring in the remaining milk. Stir until sugar has dissolved. Next, whisk in the pumpkin puree and spice, then take the pan off the stove just before the mixture begins to boil. Quickly add the Kahlua, add your toppings and enjoy!

3. Red Wine Hot Chocolate from


1 ½ cup milk

1 cup red wine (of your choice)

1/3 cup dark chocolate chunks

Topping to try: coconut whipped cream


Combine milk and chocolate chips in a saucepan over medium heat, whisking constantly until the chocolate chips melt into the milk. Pour the red wine and heat the mixture until hot. Pour into mugs, top with whipped cream and smile! This recipes makes about 2 mugs of delight.

4. Tequila and Cayenne Pepper Infused Mexican Hot Chocolate from


3 cups milk

1 ½ bars Ibarra chocolate (chunked)

6 tbsp Scharffenberger cocoa powder

2 tbsp cane sugar

1/8 – ¼ tsp cayenne pepper

4 oz Tequila (of your choice)

½ cup heavy whipping cream

Ground cinnamon for garnish


Over medium heat, warm the milk then add the Ibarra chocolate, cocoa powder and sugar. Once chocolate dissolves, whisk and season with cayenne pepper (start with small increments and season to taste). Pour the milk into 2 large mugs and add 2 ounces of tequila to each. Top with whipped cream and ground cinnamon if you would like! Delicioso!

5. Slow Cooker Spiced White Hot Chocolate


8 oz white chocolate, chunked

4 cups half and half

2 cups milk

14 oz can sweetened condensed milk

7 oz jar marshmallow crème

4 sticks cinnamon

2 tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp ground nutmeg

4 oz Godiva Chocolate Liqueur


Place all ingredients – EXCEPT the Godiva liqueur in the crock pot and cook on low for 2 ½ – 3 ½ hours, stirring occasionally. Remove the cinnamon sticks, add Godiva to taste and prepare to taste heaven!
